1993 was a glorious year to be alive, Bill Hicks was still with us, Jurassic Park was on its way & a small child in Lancashire saw Jason & The Argonauts (1963) and Batman (1989) for the first time. Things would never be the same again for Gary, who has had a love of film ever since.
Growing up on a steady diet of Bond, Hitchcock & horror, Gary gained a degree in Film at LJMU in 2010 and since then has written for various film websites and is a regular Q&A host for Picturehouse at FACT, Liverpool. He is also BBC Radio Merseyside’s resident film expert, appearing on the Sean Styles Show weekly. Gary hosts the popular ‘Mega Movie Quiz in a Theatre’ at the Everyman and various other cinematic events. His dream is to appear on Desert Island Discs.
As well as having a love of cinema, Gary has also had several short stories/poems published and he is currently working on his debut book, which is about genre cinema. When he grows up, he wants to be just like Mark Kermode.
